How do you use humor as a power tool to boost team spirit and healing with clients? Humor can take an ordinary supervisory relationship to the next level. The best part about humor: it can be applied in any clinical setting! At this interactive workshop, find out how to practice different forms of humor such as a story, metaphor, therapeutic ploy or funny failure. Role play will be incorporated to enhance the use of healthy workplace humor in supervisory relationships.
Rita Abdallah, LISW-S, ACSW, brings over 20 years of academic preparation, professional knowledge and life experience to her passion for serving others. She received a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and an undergraduate degree from John Carroll University. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW‐S) and member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW).
Rita’s career accomplishments include: published author, researcher, speaker, consultant and volunteer. She has won local and state awards for her commitment to service. Rita has led and facilitated multiple workshops on health and healing.

In 2013, Rita co‐founded a non‐profit called “Destination Hope,” which promotes the art of positive living through humor, support and knowledge for individuals touched by cancer.

Rita believes that living authentically means healthy and daily doses of wisdom, humor and love. She strives to live mindfully, joyfully and positively and provides individuals and groups effective tools on using the inner voice for maximum outer expression. Just as a fitness trainer helps clients prepare and get through personal challenges, Rita assists clients in responding proactively to change.
