This course is designed for therapists, counselors, teachers and other mental health professionals who want to gain clinical expertise when working with creativity and healing. While building creative confidence, participants will also acquire critical knowledge about the impact of art and creativity on the brain and its potency on healing, overall health, and well-being. It is quite common to hear that many helpers and clients alike have some reluctance to use art in treatment as many claim “I am not creative”. This hands on workshop will address this reluctance and offer expressive based interventions and strategies for clinicians to implement in their day to day work with clients of all ages. The use of art therapy, music, movement, mindfulness practice, yoga and sensory integration will be incorporated to develop confidence in creative intervention building and implementation.

L. Claire Campbell PCC-S, ATR is an artist, supervising clinical counselor, registered art therapist, and health & wellness advocate who uses the expressive arts, movement, breath work, guided imagery, yoga & sensory integration to guide her clinical counseling practice. Claire specializes in anxiety and depression treatment with a focus on sustained management of symptoms as well as trauma informed care across the life span. Claire has extensive experience with early childhood, adolescents, adults and parents. Claire has presented workshops nationally on trauma informed treatment, compassion fatigue and art based approaches to wellness and trauma treatment. Her expertise and passion lies in supporting wellness in the workplace and creating sustainable treatment options and wellness practices for clients, clinicians, colleagues, and students alike. Claire is an adjunct faculty member at Cleveland State University and works in private practice serving the above mentioned as well as providing clinical consultation and supervision for agencies in the region.
