This is the second course in a specialty CBT track offered by the Ohio Psychological Association. It will incorporate Course 1 basics into the application of behavioral principles into core CBT strategies. The content will first tie together behavioral foundations into the strategies of exposure therapy, behavioral activation, behavioral marital therapy (Gottman), and cognitive restructuring. The content will conclude with an integration of behavioral/functional behavioral theory into case conceptualism and treatment design, providing an overview of how well-known methods such as CBT of depression and ExRP for OCD rely on these core concepts.
This workshop is designed to:
- Provide a behavioral theoretical grounding for common CBT strategies,
- Introduce ways behavioral foundations inform delivery of CBT strategies, and
- Provide practical examples of integration of behavioral strategies as cornerstones of common CBT methods.
