Event Description
OVERVIEW: The proposed program is an interactive continuing educational course. Specifically, participants will engage with and learn from a DID client (“Aimee Rocks”) along with their therapist, Dwight Tolliver, Ph.D. This experiential program will be limited to 6-8 participants, due to the sensitive nature of the content and process of the programming. In that light, participants will play a significant role in the educational aspects of the program. However, the presenters will cover the following areas during the program: * Diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder (“DID”) * Relevant Research on DID and Complex Trauma, especially neuroscientific research * Interventions used with DID. The interventions will be discussed conceptually and performed experientially (spontaneous and planned interventions) * Psychological theories informing work with DID and Complex Trauma will be discussed and highlighted, including rationale for the presenter’s Humanistic approach with his clients (and Aimee Rocks’ views as well).
