Event Description

In 2017, a book was published called “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” in which 27 self-proclaimed “mental health experts” laid out a case of duty to warn the public about the mental instability of Donald Trump, President of the United States. This workshop reviews the claims of the book, the ethical issues in “diagnosing from a distance,” the “Goldwater Rule” about such diagnosing and the ethics of duty to warn when assessing dangerousness. We will review each of these from the ethical codes of counseling, psychology, and social work.
