Event Description
The C.G. Jung Association of Central Ohio is hosting a two-day workshop, presented by Elaine Mansfield, author, and bereavement and hospice counselor from Ithaca, NY. Elaine has written multiple articles and books on loss and grief. Her 2017 essay, "Wild Nights: Grief Dreams, Mythology and the Inner Marriage", won first place in the C.G. Jung Heartland competition. During Friday evening's program Elaine will help us explore how turning toward loss can lead to meaning and a new path toward self-integration. Ancient mythological stories will be used to find universal patterns in our unique losses, to identify strategies for psychological and emotional health. In Saturday's program, Elaine will focus on harvesting the gifts of aging and loss. She will discuss the response our ego takes when faced with aging, grief, and illness, as an individual moves through situational depression, originating from life's unavoidable circumstances.
