Event Description
Managing dangerous patients is one of the highest risk practices mental health professionals encounter. Dr. Bob Stinson is a psychologist and practicing attorney in Ohio. In this one-hour presentation, he will clearly dissect the ethical and legal responsibilities of mental health professionals in Ohio as it relates to the duty to protect. Dr. Stinson takes the guesswork out of knowing when your duty attaches and what you need to do to properly discharge your duty and protect you and your practice from potential liability. Learning Objectives: (1) Identify when a mental health professional’s duty to protect attaches in Ohio. (2) Know how to ethically and legally discharge the duty to protect in Ohio. (3) Obtain a work-flow document to (a) assist in identifying when a mental health professional’s duty to protect attaches in Ohio, and (b) guide mental health professionals in properly discharging that duty.
