Event Description
(This is a webinar.) OCD Midwest, an affiliate of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, is excited to present this unique training opportunity for clinicians seeking to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and treat individuals suffering with OCD. The workshop will feature a presentation covering the fundamentals of diagnosing and treating individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder, including making an appropriate diagnosis, reviewing common comorbidities, and understanding the biological and psychological models of OCD. Attendees will develop skills on presenting effective psycho-educational information, creating practical fear hierarchies, and implementing ritual weakening and exposure techniques for a variety of types of OCD (e.g., contamination obsessions, safety / loss obsessions, harm and sexual obsessions). The workshop will also provide an overview of the pharmacological and surgical treatments available for OCD.
