In accordance with CDC recommendations and state mandated restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, OPA’s 2020 Annual Convention has been canceled.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this change in scheduling may create, but we trust that you will support our decision to put everyone’s safety first and model behavior that will help to mitigate the spread of this highly contagious virus.
OPA’s next steps…
Refunds: OPA will issue FULL REFUNDS. All refunds will be handled expeditiously. Individuals who paid by credit card will see a credit post to their account within 14 days. Individuals who paid by check will be issued a refund check that will be mailed to their address on file. Please allow up to 10 business days to receive a refund check. For anyone not receiving a refund within these timespans, please email David Savoia, OPA Director of Director of Finance Operations, or call him at 614.224.0034.
23 Hours of New Virtual CE: Many of you depend on OPA’s convention and stand-alone workshops to meet your CE requirements. Rest assured that OPA’s commitment to delivering affordable high-quality CE will not wane during this health crisis. Starting immediately, many of the convention sessions will be converted into online learning opportunities. OPA will offer no less than 23 new hours of virtual CE prior to the end of the biennium on August 31, 2020.
P.O.D.cast: OPA launched a brand new take on a poster session this year… the P.O.D.cast - Posters on Demand. Given the cancelation of the convention, we will be extending the due dates to allow for more students to participate. Students should watch for an email outlining the new deadlines. Virtual poster submissions will be highlighted on our website and social media accounts.
Annual Awards Ceremony: OPA’s annual awards will be announced virtually this year. If you would like to submit a nomination, click here. Nominations are due March 31, 2020.
OPA would like to thank all our sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers for their support of the annual convention.

A surge in the demand for mental health providers is expected as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. OPA’s first priority is to safeguard our members’ ability to service those in need. With this in mind, we are currently developing a comprehensive pandemic resource webpage for psychologists including the most up-to-date information on telepsychology. Look for this resource to be launched later this week!
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to address this ever changing crisis on a day-to-day basis.
