Submit Continuing Education Hours:

• APA Approved Courses – You must email (mce@ohpsych.org) certificates as pdf attachments or fax (614-224-6702) them without a cover sheet. Certificates must be submitted within 90 days of the course completion. Certificates received after 90 days post completion will NOT be accepted.

• OPA-MCE Approved Courses – You do not need to send in a certificate as long as you signed the psychologist attendance sheet on the day of the course. The OPA-MCE approved provider will send it in for you.

• Non-APA or non-OPA-MCE Approved Course – You need to fill out the Single Course Review form and include ALL required attachments. The review process takes several weeks to complete… even longer if the required information is not included in your initial submission. Single course reviews will be accepted through July 1, 2026 for the 2024-2026 Biennium. If you are planning on taking a non-approved course between July 2 and August 31, 2026. You must submit a Single Course Review form on or before July 1 requesting pre-approval. Single Course Reviews received after July 1 will NOT be accepted for the current biennium.

The Ohio Psychological Association Mandatory Continuing Education Committee (OPA-MCE) is responsible for ensuring that CE activities, submitted by Ohio psychologists, are of sound quality and post-graduate level information via our review of submissions for single course reviews and approved provider applications.

The profession of psychology continues to grow and mature, spanning many exciting areas of knowledge and practice! Not to mention, the expanded delivery formats now available thanks to improved technology and tracking.

The OPA-MCE Committee meets virtually four times a year. Course reviews are completed outside of the quarterly meetings via an online platform. Training for new committee members is provided.

2. Complete the Single Course Review form if you took non-approved courses, wrote an article or book, taught a grad course. Answer ALL questions on the form and attach the certificate, course objectives and presenter credentials. Fill out this form ONLY for NON-APA or NON-OPA-MCE approved courses.
3. Be patient, the fax line is very busy right now. It can take up to two weeks for us to complete your data entry at this time in the biennium. Please don’t call to ask if we’ve received your fax, With minimal interruptions, we will be able to enter your certificates much quicker and assist you in maintaining your license.

To check your transcript or to register for the current biennium…

1. Visit www.ohpsych.org.
2. Go to the Green Bar at the top of the page, click on OPA-MCE Log-in. 
3. Enter your license number and pin in order to see your transcript.  

If hours you’ve sent in recently are not yet visible, please wait a few days as we are entering them in the order in which they arrive. Responding to emails and calls asking if we’ve received your certificates takes time away from getting them entered.

When you’ve met your requirements, we will report your hours to the State Board. Please don’t call to ask if we’ve reported them. We report them to the Board the same day that we send the Final Transcript to you.

Or, do you just need a few hours or ethics hours? The convention offers the flexibility of al carte registration... including over 20 hours of ethics CE. With more than 20 sessions to choose from, you're sure to find workshops to meet your needs and interest. 

Any hours earned at the convention will be automatically entered onto your transcript. You don’t have to send in anything.

If your transcript does not appear immediately, click on “OPA-MCE Transcript” located on the left navigation bar. To see all of your CE since 1998, click the “Show All Courses” button at the bottom of the page. You may also print this out if you need it.  

Remember… you need to earn 23 (or 13 if this is your first year) total hours including at least 4 in ethics and/or cultural competency by August 31, 2022.

Need more hours to complete the requirement?  Keep your eyes open for a way to earn all 23 CE at our virtual Annual Convention April 28-30, 2022.

• The State Board of Psychology will assess financial penalties for CE earned after the deadline of 8-31-2022. 

Look no further than the OPA courses at https://ohpsych.org/page/education or the MCE Calendar https://ohpsych.org/events/event_list.asp. All of the courses on our website are OPA-MCE approved. 

If the course provided by OPA, the CE will be added to your transcript without you doing anything further.  For the courses on the calendar, the OPA-MCE approved provider will send the attendance sheet to OPA-MCE within 45 days of the course and it will be entered onto your transcript. This makes earning your 23 total hours including 4 in ethics and/or cultural competency easy. 

Avoid the rush and stress... Complete the requirement well before the end of the biennium!

Once these updates go into effect, final transcripts will be emailed to you. Hard copies of your transcript will no longer be mailed to you. On the same day that you receive your electronic final transcript, the State Board of Psychology will be notified that you have completed your hours for the current biennium. This information will be used by them to renew your license for the next biennium.

To view your current transcript, go to www.ohpsych.org. In the Green Bar at the top of the page, click on OPA-MCE Login. Enter your license number and pin. Here you can see and/or print your transcript, as well as your OPA-MCE receipts (click on the date to get a receipt and print it out).

More than 3,000 psychologists are registered with OPA-MCE to track their CE hours. If everyone holds their certificates until the last minute, the processing time can double or even triple causing unneeded stress for everyone.

It is imperative that you do not wait until the end of the biennium to submit Single Course Reviews. Keep in mind… not all Single Course Reviews are approved. Waiting until the last minute to find out that a course you took has been denied can leave you scrambling to complete your CE requirement before the deadline.
