MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Rural Behavioral Health Task Force is to enrich behavioral/psychological resources for all rural communities in Ohio
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of the Rural Behavioral Health Task Force are to:
- Clarify what constitutes rural or non-metropolitan communities
- Assess the unique needs of psychologists who practice in rural communities and/or provide psychological services to those who reside in non-metropolitan areas
- Assess the psychological needs of rural community residents
- Foster a stronger and mutually beneficial relationship with the Ohio Psychological Association
- Create and sustain an environment of diversity and inclusion while holding cultural competence for psychologists a high priority
- Support the personal and professional lives of psychologists
GOALS:
- Complete needs assessment of psychologists
- Expand members of Rural Behavioral Health Task Force
- Establish a broad network of rural behavioral health providers
- Provide resources, including professional development and training for providers
- Create Rural Behavioral Health Task Force page on OPA website
- Develop presentations and webinars on salient issues for rural behavioral health providers
