Medicare RFI Message

Dear Ohio Psychologists:

Please take a moment and look at the Request For Information from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). At the request of the new administration, CMS is gathering information from providers on administrative burdens and other problems imposed by Medicare regulations. CMS is asking questions such as:

“Are there existing regulatory requirements (including those issued through regulations but also rules, memoranda, administrative orders, guidance documents, or policy statements), that could be waived, modified, or streamlined to reduce administrative burdens without compromising patient safety or the integrity of the Medicare program?”

“Are there documentation or reporting requirements within the Medicare program that are overly complex or redundant? If so, which ones? “

This is a great opportunity to give provider perspective on the issues which impose significant barriers to effective treatment and fair practices I so often hear about from you. Comments may be submitted at this website: https://www.cms.gov/medicare-regulatory-relief-rfi

Be sure to respond by the June 10 deadline.

Jim Broyles, PhD
Director of Professional Affairs | Ohio Psychological Association
395 E.
